What we do

vSail-Trainer

Virtual Sailing’s VSail-Trainer is a full size ride-on interactive simulator of a single-handed dinghy. It comes with software emulations for a range of modern sailboats including Lasers (all single handed classes), Byte and MegaByte, Optimist, Liberty and the 29er. Sailing locations, courses, wind strength, gusts and conditions are user selected to suit the ability of the sailors. Sailor performance data is captured in real time and can be analysed.

vSail-Access Module

Virtual Sailing’s Access Module is an expansion unit that slips inside the cockpit of the VSail-Trainer to allow the simulator to be operated by sailors with limited mobility using either a mechanical or electronic joystick to control the sail and rudder.

Real time analysis

Sailors can record their sails for subsequent analysis of sailing performance using a customised spreadsheet or these can be loaded into the program as virtual competitors in subsequent races. This allows sailors to try different strategies and compare with previous performances in real time. The vSail trainers can also be networked together to allow sailors to race against each other in real time.

Training for children

The Virtual Sailing Simulator is uniquely designed to help children and those new to sailing gain the confidence they need to get onto the water. By accurately simulating real world conditions, complete training is available without having to go off dry land.
